Dr. Manuel Stein (Subsequent GmbH, Konstanz)

In his presentation, Dr. Manuel Stein provides an engaging overview of the work of his company, Subsequent GmbH, which specializes in real-time 3D skeleton recognition based on simple smartphone recordings. Subsequent, an innovative and multi-award-winning SME (including Germany’s Digital Startup of the Year 2023 by the BMWE, winner of the 2022 Baden-Württemberg Innovation Award, AI Champion Baden-Württemberg 2023, and KfW Award for Start-ups 2023 as the Baden-Württemberg state winner), offers real-time skeleton data extraction and innovative motion analysis based on simple video recordings across various application areas. The solutions offered by Subsequent require neither costly sensors worn by people nor complex multi-camera infrastructures. Using these methods, Subsequent collects data in the sports sector—for example, for the Austrian national soccer team—as well as for international companies in the automotive industry and retail.
