Guest Lecture: "Causal Inference in Continuous Time"

Start: Location: IBZ, Emil-Figge-Straße 59, 44227 Dortmund
Thomas Gerds is Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Copenhagen and internationally recognized for his work on statistical methods for clinical and healthcare data. His research particularly focuses on longitudinal and time-dependent processes, causal inference, and the development of biostatistical methodology. In his talk, he will discuss methodological challenges that arise when estimating treatment effects from observational longitudinal data, especially in settings where treatments change continuously over time. The lecture will also address recent developments in continuous-time causal models and their practical implications for medical and health-care research.
