In this presentation, I will talk about my path into statistics, my job at a dynamic telecommunications company, and how flexible work arrangements enable a true work-life balance. Using examples, I will demonstrate the tasks that data scientists in the fiber optic industry can expect and how a work style characterized by high autonomy and flat hierarchies can be successful in a large data science team.
