Statistics at Work
The lecture series Statistics at Work gives students an insight into the multi-faceted professional life of a statistician. Graduates of the department talk about their professional practice, they present their company and the tasks they perform there. Among other things, they will discuss what knowledge from their studies is needed in the profession and what skills other than statistics are important in the respective professional field. The event is primarily aimed at students, but PhD candidates and professors are also cordially invited!
This colloquium is initiated and organized by Prof. Dr. K. Ickstadt and Carmen van Meegen. The lecture series is also supported by the alumni association Dortmunder Statistiker.
If you are a graduate of the Faculty of Statistics and would like to give a talk, we would be happy to hear from you. Suggestions from students from which field of application we should invite someone are also welcome. If you are interested in giving a talk or making suggestions, please feel free to write us an e-mail.
