By car

The campus of the Technical University of Dortmund is located near the freeway junction Dortmund West, where the Sauerland line A45 crosses the Ruhr expressway B1/A40. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

It covers this distance in two minutes.

By plane

From Dortmund Airport, it takes just over 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station by AirportExpress and from there to the university by S-Bahn. A wider range of international flight connections is offered by Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometers away, which can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university's train station.

New honorary professorship at the Faculty of Statistics: Dr. Dietmar Stemann

As of this semester, the Faculty of Statistics has an honorary professor, Dr. Dietmar Stemann.

On April 29, 2024, Dr. Stemann was presented with his certificate and awarded the title of honorary professor. The award was presented by Rector Manfred Bayer and Dean Philipp Doebler.

Prof. Dr. Stemann, an experienced expert in the field of "Lean Six Sigma", brings considerable added value to the students of the Faculty of Statistics and the other faculties. His future courses will give students the opportunity to gain certification as a Six Sigma "Green Belt" during their studies. This not only expands students' practical skills, but also increases their attractiveness on the job market.

In cooperation with the Zentrum für HochschulBildung (zhb), the aim is also to establish Sig Sigma as a certificate course, which will further enrich the range of courses offered by the faculty.

Prof. Dr. Stemann is Managing Director of MTS Consulting Partner, a graduate of TU Dortmund University and has many years of experience in management consulting.

We are delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Stemann to our team and are looking forward to the new impetus he will bring to teaching and research.
