By car

The campus of the Technical University of Dortmund is located near the freeway junction Dortmund West, where the Sauerland line A45 crosses the Ruhr expressway B1/A40. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

It covers this distance in two minutes.

By plane

From Dortmund Airport, it takes just over 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station by AirportExpress and from there to the university by S-Bahn. A wider range of international flight connections is offered by Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometers away, which can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university's train station.

Festive colloquium entitled "Research Synthesis in Medical Statistics and Epidemiology"

Prof. Dr. Katja Ickstadt and Prof. Dr. Guido Knapp are not only united by their love of statistics and their many years of work for our department. They also have in common that they were born in the same year and both celebrated their 60th birthday this year.

To mark this special occasion, the two invited guests to a celebratory colloquium entitled "Research Synthesis in Medical Statistics and Epidemiology" at TU Dortmund University on February 21. The approximately 80 invited guests included renowned scientists from Germany and around the world.

The colloquium focused on a series of lectures on various aspects of medical statistics and epidemiology. The speakers included Tim Friede (Göttingen), Björn Bornkamp (Basel), Manuela Zucknick (Oslo), Anke Hüls (Atlanta) and Lothar Kreienbrock (Hanover). A special item on the program was a contribution by Timur Tug and Yassine Talleb: Katja Ickstadt and Guido Knapp put their knowledge of each other to the test in a quiz.

The celebratory finale was a dinner at the Storckshof restaurant with the invited guests.
