The campus of the Technical University of Dortmund is located near the freeway junction Dortmund West, where the Sauerland line A45 crosses the Ruhr expressway B1/A40. The Dortmund-Eichlinghofen exit on the A45 leads to the South Campus, the Dortmund-Dorstfeld exit on the A40 leads to the North Campus. The university is signposted at both exits.

By bus and train

It covers this distance in two minutes.

By plane

From Dortmund Airport, it takes just over 20 minutes to get to Dortmund Central Station by AirportExpress and from there to the university by S-Bahn. A wider range of international flight connections is offered by Düsseldorf Airport, about 60 kilometers away, which can be reached directly by S-Bahn from the university's train station.

The Hochschuletage in the Dortmunder U gives a home to an exhibition on sports and statistics from April 21 to May 29, 2023.

Can it be confirmed based on data that the "home field advantage" really exists? Is Borussia Dortmund really affected by more injuries than other first division soccer clubs?

Students from the Faculty of Statistics and the Institute of Journalism have addressed these and other questions relating to the topic of sports myths and their sound data evaluation in the interdisciplinary seminar "Sport and Statistics". Work from nine groups will be on display. In addition, there is a small soccer parkour with electronic timing and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering contributes sensor technology for sports shoes to the exhibition. The exhibition will be rounded off with lectures, discussions and live experiments.
